Boudoir Photography in Boulder, Colorado

Hi, I’m Petra. I’ve been photographing women for nearly a decade and have guided hundreds of clients through their photoshoots.

My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and designed to create images that feel artful, natural, and completely you.

Whether you're celebrating a milestone, creating something beautiful just for yourself, or stepping outside your comfort zone, I’ll guide you every step of the way.

What Makes This Experience Different

  • Personal guidance throughout your session; you’ll feel like you’re working with a friend! From twisted straps, tags poking out, fingers that need to relax, I see everything and make little adjustments to create the perfect image.

  • A calm, private studio in Boulder. Designed to feel more like a cozy loft, instead of intimidating studio. I’m proudly a natural light boudoir photographer, which means your images will feel soft and sculpted, for the most flattering light ever.

  • Editorial inspired posing that feels natural. I have almost 10 years of experience posing women of every size, shape, age, and identity, you don’t need to know what to do, because I know exactly how to guide you to create your best photos ever.

Most women arrive feeling nervous, but leave wondering why they waited so long.

An elevated Boudoir experience you’ll love

What is Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir (pronounced boo-dwar) comes from the French word boudoir, meaning a woman’s private room or dressing space. Today, boudoir photography is known for intimate, elegant portraits that celebrate confidence, femininity, and self-expression. I photograph women from Boulder, Denver, Longmont, Louisville, Aspen, Winter Park, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and throughout Colorado.

Your Photoshoot in 3 Simple Steps:

Booking a boudoir photography session should feel simple and comfortable. If you are curious but unsure, you are exactly where you need to be!

    Step 1 - Chat & Plan

We’ll go over your questions, talk through what to wear and how to prepare, and discuss any ideas or vision you have for your session. I love creative and unique requests, so feel free to share what excites you.

I’ll also walk you through my best tips and guidance (I have a lot!), then we’ll choose a date for your session.

Relax and enjoy fully guided posing, Professional hair & makeup (optional!), and thoughtful attention to every detail.

I’ll guide you through exactly what to do, where to look, and how to pose, and we’ll chat the whole time.

Boudoir photography does not require confidence or experience. It simply asks that you show up as you are. My role is to guide you, create a comfortable space, and photograph you in a way that feels authentic & beautiful.

Boudoir Photography FAQs

What should I expect during a Boudoir Photoshoot?

Boudoir sessions are relaxed, guided, and surprisingly fun. I’ll help you with posing, expressions, and movement so you never feel unsure of what to do. Most clients say they feel comfortable within the first few minutes.

Will my photos be private?

Absolutely. Your privacy is always respected. Images are only shared with permission, and many clients choose to keep their photos completely private.

Do I need modeling experience?

Not at all. Almost everyone I photograph says they’re not photogenic or don’t know how to pose. That’s completely normal. My job is to guide you through the entire experience so you feel confident and look amazing.

When should I book my photoshoot?

Most clients book their session 4–8 weeks in advance, especially if they are planning a gift or special occasion.

But if you have less time than that, reach out anyway! I do last minute sessions all the time. And if you want to book out several months in advance, you’re free to do that too.

Where do boudoir sessions take place?

Sessions take place in my Boulder studio, a small guest house type space designed for beautiful natural light and a comfortable, private atmosphere.

What should I bring to my boudoir session?

Most clients bring 2–4 outfits they feel good in. This can include lingerie, cozy pieces like a sweater or button-down, or something more personal.

You don’t need a lot, simple options that fit well and feel comfortable usually photograph beautifully. we’ll cover this extensively during our pre-session chat, and I’m always happy to help you choose what works best once you arrive.
